Lard and Tallow Soap-Making Class

Guest instructor, Emma Schroeder, will be leading this fun and informative class! You'll learn all about safety, the soap-making process, and creative design techniques to craft long-lasting, beautiful bars of soap. Tallow makes a wonderful soap for hands, body, and lathers well for shaving. Best of all, you’ll walk away with a full pound of your own soap—enough for six luxurious bars!

Norway House Chicken Breakdown Class

You will have your own cutting board, knife and locally-raised whole chicken (3-4 LB). The class will be part demo and full hands-on participation. You will get to cut your chicken into 8 pieces but will also learn multiple methods of cutting the chicken into usable parts. Cecka will go over how to use all the parts, how to make bone broth, chicken liver pate and more. You will be given a tasty overnight marinade for you all to go home with and enjoy the next day. This class is great for partners, roommates and friends!

Cost is $210/person. This pays for instructors, rent, meat and snacks/drinks. Skill level is intermediate. It will be easier if you have some meat cutting or knife skills but that is not a requirement! Limited to 6 Students. Food/drinks provided. Time is approximately three hours.

Students go home with 12-15LB of locally-raised pork all ready for dinner or the freezer!

Sweethearts Knife Skills

This class will feature a variety of skills for daily knife use with a focus on meat cutting. We will go over what type of knife can be used for your purpose and talk about how to handle a knife safely.

Each student will have their own cutting board set up with some items to cut. We will provide some knives to use however, each student should bring the knives they use at home as well.
